I've been thoroughly enjoying my backyard birdhouse for the past 2 years. I never knew these little birds ( I believe the chickadee) would have 3 sets of chicks!
The first year after the chicks left the nest I cleaned it out in the fall.
Last year though the male never left the nest and still resides in it throughout the fall and winter. My neighbor behind me has a feeder so maybe that's why he is still there.
Can anyone tell me when I should go clean out the nest or should I leave it alone?
