I knew I'd get him - turns out it was sooner rather than later. It's not the greatest picture but it's all I've got for now.

I think this is a Greater Scaup (rounded head, wide bill) but I stand to be corrected. At Brydon Lagoon in Langley this afternoon.

Nice going everyone. What is that crow eating...dog food?
I've got a couple more from Brydon Lagoon today. The wind was a little on the blustery side which didn't help with the selection of songbirds, but what can you do?

We have the Audubon's (by Adam) so here's the other sub-species.

This one's from the back patio this afternoon...I posted the female a while back so here's the male to complete the set.

Great additions! Yeah I think the crow must have raided someone's pet dish somewhere.

And Ian has given me sapsucker envy... I need to make a trip to the Okanagan soon!

Here is one more from yesterday at Burnaby Lake, a Ruddy Duck (male):

While it's not the greatest shot, I hardly ever see a wild Turkey Vulture (this is only the 2nd time) so I'll take what I can get! This one was kind enough to do a quick fly-by over the boardwalk at Piper Spit on Burnaby Lake.

Ooh they’re back - good catch! Was Mr. Ruddy still there?

Thanks Zac…I didn’t see the Ruddy although someone else reported him on eBird today; btw love your picture of him. I didn’t see Trevor the Mandarin Duck either so I hope he’s OK.

Helloo! Sorry I've been offline for a bit ... been really busy.
Great work, everyone! Those pictures are all awesome. I've been able to collect a few more photos to add to our year:
1) Northern Rough-winged Swallow (Male/Female ... I think). haha
Image
Image

2) Redhead (Male/Female) ... Definitely!
Image

3) Ruby-crowned Kinglet! (one clear, one blurry). He's really showing his top-notch in the blurry photo!
Image
Image

4) Belted Kingfisher -- I know we had a blurry photo ... I'm trying to get the pair that live at Munson Pond, Kelowna. This guy was at Blair Pond Park in Glenmore (Kelowna Suburb). Many of these photos were there. Nice birding locale.
Image

5) I couldn't pass up posting this Yellow-rumped Warbler. Sorry for the Duplicate. 8)
Image

6) Tree Swallow. I know we have one; here's the male / female combo.
Image

7) Northern Pintail. I know you posted both Male/Female, Judy. Here they are in one photo!
Image

Almost forgot!
8) Yellow-headed Blackbird ... Robert's Lake, Kelowna.

Keep up the great posts!
James

Ok! Here's a link to the updated list of birds. We have 112 so far, with 32 pair of male/female. Great work, but we are about 50 birds behind our pace last year. Haha. I feel a certain amount of responsibility -- I saw two birds today that I should have photographed and didn't! I'll try to catch us up a few more in the next couple of weeks.

Somehow, Ian, I left your Harrier off my earlier lists -- I don't know how I missed it! Those are beautiful photos.

Keep up the fantastic job, everyone!
