A juvenile Green Heron is cleaning out the frogs et al at Burnaby Lake. Very low water levels right now.
Normal appearance...
However, he also snagged what is apparently a Lamprey. Didn't know that these were at this location.
I have observed that when they are about to swallow, they erect the feathers on their heads.
Then its neck became very thick....
