Its always a good day when you get to check a local nemesis bird especially one as striking as the male Red-breasted Merganser. Normally 200ft is a close shot of these guys but laying on a rocky beach in full camo in horribly uncomfortable positions paid off with this stunning bird feeding in close proximity for nearly an hour. Had the added bonus of Barrow's goldeneye as well. You know your camo is working when a bufflehead pulled up on a rock right beside me and had a snooze
