I have almost no hummingbirds at my feeders. I used to have busy feeders, all Annas I think. A few months ago I saw a Rufous hummingbird in my yard. I read that they can be aggressive and frighten away the Annas. Could that be the reason why or is there another reason?

The Anna's have nested, and I've seen a few fledglings out in my area (Richmond), and the Rufous are all in nesting mode and having nestlings about now. The Hummingbirds tend to feed on more protein (bugs) as well as nectar when feeding the young so they aren't hitting feeders as often. Also, there are a LOT of flowering plants and bushes in the last month that provide lots of feeding for the Hummingbirds.
