Small bird with white/ black/ orange wing bars; like a Brambling.

First off, I apologize to Indobirder for not thanking them for the ID of the gull back in April. I somehow forgot.
I saw this new bird at Nanaimo River Estuary, Raines Rd, this morning. I can not find the three wing bars (white/black/orange) in any bird, except a Brambling, which is unlikely. I think you can see a white rump here. The photo is from a few seconds of video (all over-exposed and out of focus). The white rump is seen more clearly a little later when the bird flies off.

Thanks, Steven. It is amazing how close the American Goldfinch and Brambling patterns are, apart from color. The side of the bird in shadow looks quite like Brambling coloration (as in this other shot), but this is likely due to the overexposure. I have now turned on the Zebra option.
