Back in September during a trip out to the end of Iona Spit I captured this picture of what Merlin ID's as a Lapland Longspur (nonbreeding/Immature Male).

The sparrow like size and face pattern/nape certainly check out but I wanted to get a second opinion from the experts here. What do you think?

I’m far from being an expert but I’d say you have yourself a really nice picture of a non-breeding or immature Lapland Longspur. They are known to hang out at Iona.
