A Red Tailed Hawk's nest is within metres of the Spencer Road Interchange construction site. There are two young in the nest and apparently blasting in the area has been placed on hold until the young move out of the nest. I have posted a few very poor quality photos on the
www.spencerspond.ca website. There are many good viewing locations of this nest. The other day I watched the young feeding on a small rodent. I just have a point and shoot camera. If any one gets a good photo of the young, I could post it on the website. This interchange has been extremely destructive to a number of environments and I'm hoping that there will be lessons learned that would stop and consider the special places still left.
