I was hiking in Knox Mountain Park today in Kelowna and came across these four owls and one cardinal ... seemed strange ...

I think your 1st picture is indeed a CARDinal.

I would say the owls are:
Northern Sawdust Owl
Boxed Owl
Yellow-bellied Sketch Owl
Crate Formed Owl

Nice finds James.
