Got the Red Alert at 4:30pm and didn't have to think too long before setting off against all odds (or at least the traffic) to Richmond (the dike area off Steveston and 1st) in hopes of getting a shot or two of the Emperor Goose (in amongst the Snow geese), first spotted by Hank the photog earlier in the day.
A small crowd of birders and an equal number of photogs were all enjoying close looks at the neat little juvenile goose as i trudged up with my gear and had brief minutes (it seemed) before the light started to fade too much and the goose moved further out from shore.


Could well be there tomorrow morning for those interested..
