I have a question?? Is this normal? (I am not a birder) we have a small bird maybe a sparrow sitting on top of our very phoney looking Artifical tree outside on our porch every night The weather is wet but not too cold. Every night for the last 4 nights its there & in the day I think must be eating at the house next door feeding station. Is this normal behavior? I do hope the bird is Ok .
We are joking that the mud swallow must of told it about our porch. We had mud swallows make a nest & hatch 2 sets of babys this summer .We have never had this happen before. The mud swallows seems very happy even with porch lights & dogs & we put up with the mess. Hope they come back next summer

I just think its stange now we have a sparrow at night on our porch too

Not to worry, this is perfectly normal behaviour for this time of the year. Althought it's not usual to see birds perched in artifical trees (probably because you don't find many artifical trees outdoors), if it offers a comfortable place to perch with some protection from the elements, then your visitor if probably a happy camper :D
