Today Liron and I went to Iona and found a sleeping duck that looks very similar to a Tufted Duck. I immediately thought we had the Tufted Duck but after a long while he moved his head and it was a Ring-necked Duck. This is a very unusual Ring-necked with full white flanks. However after reviewing Cole's photo we see he had the same bird yesterday as the head is pointed which you can see in the photo even though the head is tucked in. This means the Tufted Duck has not been seen since Jan 2nd.
