Looks like Len and Dian Jellicoe have found the first breeding record of this species for the Lillooet area. Today Ian Routley found 2 Bobolinks on the Diamond S Ranch carrying food and yesterday the male was doing display flights. This is 7-7 1/2 kilometers from the highway through Pavillion up to the grasslands.

Great find Len and Dian!

Ian Routley had all three birds today and was kind enough to provide more directions to the colony. The birds are located 8 kms from the turnoff at Pavilion reserve. There is an active MOBL box in the copse of Aspen at the crest of a small hill and the Bobolink are in the field to the west. Ian Routley got a beautiful shot of the female today (male in the background):
