Hello! My name is Libby Natola, I am a researcher at UBC coming up to the Prince George/Quesnel region to study hybridization among red-naped, red-breasted, and yellow-bellied sapsuckers. I need to include data from as many breeding pairs as possible from any species. I’m hoping I can enlist the help of local birders! If you notice sapsuckers nesting on your property I would love to come out and collect data on them. For those interested in any involvement with this project, please contact me at libby.natola@gmail.com.

We have seen both Red-breasted and Yellow-bellied destroying our Mtn Ash this spring. The Yellow-bellied seems to be winning the territorial battle. First year we have seen them stay. Last year we saw one Yellow-bellied and that was a first for us in about 30 years.
